This weekend, I finally proofed the Trade Paperback edition of The Mark of Cain (Tales of Ciel Book 3). If you were waiting to pre-order the print version, it should be available through all retailers at some point this week. We incurred a bit of delay finalizing the artwork on this one, but as always, Zefanya’s work was worth the wait. Here’s the clean painting that will be adorning the TP for Book 3:

Same portrait of Kai on the front cover, then on the back we see our first canonical landscape of Kelestina’s Crystal Palace on Aquilon Island. Zefanya’s style has come to define the visual aesthetic of Ciel in these crucial early months, and I look forward to continuing our partnership as we bring this vast, uncanny world to life.
