I’m still hoping to get a finished draft of What Lies Between out the door by year’s end, but the days seem to be ticking by at an accelerated pace. I’ll level with y’all: this draft might drag into 2026. That doesn’t mean my wheels were spinning this week, however.
I dipped back into two manuscripts in an effort to get ahead of the crowded 2026 publication calendar. To perfect the extended preview of The Politics of Fear, I had to spend some time incorporating editorial feedback on those sections of the manuscript. That means I blazed through the first half of the polish draft, inching this one closer to the finish line.
I did the same thing for The Girl Who Woke the Moon (Shattered Book 1). This one is already polished, but I had the manuscript recently proofread, so I needed to make a few edits to get the book ready for galley. Both The Politics of Fear and The Girl Who Woke the Moon will be released in Hardcover. That requires a six-month lead time for pre-publication marketing (rather than the typical three). I do need to get What Lies Between to the editor sometime in January, but I also need to get The Politics of Fear into galley form by the end of January. The Girl Who Woke the Moon needs to be in galley by the end of February.
That’s all happening right on top of the release dates for Seven Days of Mercy for the Apostatic Priest (The Divine Heretic Book 1) and Ophiuchus Flinched (Tales of Ciel Book 2). I thought it would be a good idea to get ahead of things.
