Reader Question of the Week: The Politics of Fear Extended Preview

This week’s reader question comes for u/TamazighPlusUltra:

Is there a preview available for The Politics of Fear? Sounds interesting!

Thanks for reaching out! The short answer is no, not yet. But there will be. Just like with Ardent Wings on Jealous Skies and Seven Days of Mercy for the Apostatic Priest, The Politics of Fear will be the first novel in a series (The Compact Cycle), so I plan to make an extended preview available to interested readers a few months before release.

I like these extended previews to represent the final, proofed version of the book. The Politics of Fear is currently in the midst of a pretty extensive revision, so I don’t even have the chapters ready to provide even if I wanted to get them out this early. Realistically, the extended preview should go live in February or March in anticipation of the book’s June release. It will be available to download from the High Trestle Press website.

For Ardent Wings and Seven Days of Mercy, I made the first 10 chapters available for download through the extended previews. The Politics of Fear is quite a bit longer than either of those books. It’s actually longer than both of those books combined. So the good news is that I’ll probably make an even more extensive chunk available through the Free Preview. The novel is divided into Part I and Part II, and I’m leaning toward providing all of Part I just to get you all hooked. It ends with a bang.
