High Trestle Press Finishes First Calendar Year of Operations

I’m not generally one to wax nostalgic. I prefer to keep my eyes on the horizon, and we’ll get to the year ahead, but as we close out our first calendar year at HTP, I’d like to take a minute to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished so far.

Back in March, pulled my last two manuscripts from consideration with traditional publishers (The Girl Who Woke the Moon and Ardent Wings on Jealous Skies, in case you’re curious) and incorporated HTP. That triggered four months of prep work, design tasks, business admin, and shameless pleading culminating in the first edition of The Weekly Ride, disseminated to your inboxes in June.

That initial newsletter reached ~65 readers. This week, I spoke directly to 1400+. Since March, we’ve published one novel and set two more up for pre-orders. We’ve brought 17 contractors into the fold, launched two websites, worked with multiple booksellers and distribution platforms, and shepherded the next six novels through various stages of editing, revision, and design. HTP books have garnered 11 reviews from industry trade publications (not to mention the countless reader reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, BookBub, and a variety of other platforms). Most importantly, our books have landed in the hands and kindles of over 3,000 readers.

We’ve come a long way, baby.
