Ardent Wings on Jealous Skies is just three weeks away from wide release, but Seven Days of Mercy for the Apostatic Priest is the top news item today. Both the Ebook and the Trade Paperback are signed, sealed, and loaded with our distribution channels. Now, you can do all kinds of fun stuff. For example…
You can add, shelve, rate, and review the book on Goodreads;
You can share the book on your social media platform of choice and tell everyone in your life how excited you are for the January 13 release date;
Perhaps most importantly, you can pre-order both the Ebook AND the paperback and expect to have either version delivered promptly upon release!
Seven Days of Mercy marks our first proper pre-order campaign, and I would love for you all to participate. Pre-orders help us gauge interest early and refine our marketing strategy ahead of launch with much better data. They also help retailers determine how many copies of our book to stock. For example, if a bunch of you pre-order the paperback from Amazon, Amazon will put in a bulk order with our fulfillment house to stock inside their own fulfillment center so they can more quickly fill orders from end customers. Amazon also clocks preorder sales at the moment of release. With enough sales in the lead-up to publication, a new novel can rocket up the charts and reap all kinds of algorithmic dividends.
This is all to say, please pre-order Seven Days of Mercy for the Apostatic Priest. Fun fact about this one: This is the only manuscript that a developmental editor has ever returned to me with essentially no notes. Editors are incentivized to demonstrate their value, but here was the top-line feedback on this one, copied directly from the WIP: “This is a riveting, propulsive read. You’ll see one scene in Chapter 10 that I think you can trim to improve the pacing, but other than that I wouldn’t change a thing. The story really works, and Ruxindra’s voice is fresh and consistent throughout. Bravo.”
