This week’s reader question comes from M.H. in Irvine, California. M. found his way to HTP via the ARC of Ardent Wings on Jealous Skies, which he downloaded from NetGalley.
I found myself enjoying Vanna’s chapters in [Ardent WIngs on Jealous Skies], but felt like her character needed more room to breathe. Will we see more of her point-of-view in Book 2?
First, thanks so much for picking up the ARC! Don’t forget to leave us a star-rating and/or review on Goodreads or at any point of purchase after the book goes live on November 11.
Very minor spoilers ahead, if anyone is a purist.
I’m glad to hear that Vanna’s chapters are resonating. Since Effie is our protagonist and Ardent Wings is the first book in a trilogy, page space is somewhat tilted toward her POV. That said, the first trilogy is very much about the dynamic between the two sisters and how they grow and progress through their intersecting stories. So to answer your question, yes. You will see much more of Vanna’s POV in both Book 2: Ophiuchus Flinched and Book 3: The Mark of Cain.
The next two books are also longer, with The Mark of Cain coming in at twice the length of Ardent Wings on Jealous Skies, so there’s much more page space to go around. Vanna gets her fair share. If you enjoyed the more kinetic action of her storyline in Ardent Wings, I can promise more in that vein, as well.
